Do you sometimes feel you have professional questions to ask and no one to direct them to?\u00a0Do you find yourself wishing that someone would have been there to teach you all that you now know?\u00a0Would you like to walk alongside a new librarian as they enter the profession?<\/p>\n
If you answered\u00a0yes<\/b>\u00a0to any of these questions, the\u00a0Mentoring Program<\/b>\u00a0is for you! The Mentoring Committee of\u00a0NMRT (New Members Round Table)\u00a0is sponsoring this project to help newcomers to librarianship navigate their way in the profession.<\/p>\n
Interested? As a mentor or a mentee, you can participate in the following programs:<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0Career Mentoring:<\/b>\u00a0a year-round program to connect a newer librarian with a seasoned librarian for a mentoring relationship relating to career development in librarianship. Conference mentoring participants may choose to extend into the career mentoring program at their discretion.\u00a0Applications for Career Mentoring for the 2022-2023\u00a0committee year are now open.<\/b><\/p>\n
2. Conference Mentoring:\u00a0<\/b>a program designed to help first time attendees of the ALA Annual Conference\u00a0(whose size can often be overwhelming and intimidating!) feel at ease by pairing them with seasoned conference attendees.\u00a0Applications for Conference Mentoring are currently closed and will reopen for ALA Annual 2023.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
