Are you an ILA member who wants to get involved but doesn’t know where to begin, or have you been considering joining ILA but need a reason? If so, register today for the second ILA Forum Open House, which will take place virtually on Thursday, November 10, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM CDT<\/b>.<\/p>\n
This is an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with some of the ILA forums<\/a>, as managers from some of the forums will be present to discuss their forum’s mission, goals, current and future projects, and what it means to be a member of their forum. Attendees will be able to visit one (or all) of the forums because each forum will have its own “room.”<\/p>\n In addition, everyone who registers and attends will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a free registration to the Reaching Forward South Conference in April or the Reaching Forward Conference in May. If you have any questions about this event, please contact Tamara Jenkins, at tjenkins@ila.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n The forums listed below have confirmed their participation.<\/p>\n Library Trustee Forum (LTF) – The Library Trustee Forum maintains a continuing education program and information network for library trustees and encourages citizens’ use and support of libraries.<\/p>\n Marketing Forum – The Marketing Forum represents the interests of library marketers and provides a forum for them to network, share ideas and strategies, and develop best practices to disseminate through the ILA website and other channels, including conferences and events.<\/p>\n Reaching Forward Forum (RF) – The Reaching Forward Forum’s mission is to provide professional opportunities for library staff to grow, learn, and connect with new ideas.<\/p>\n Small and Rural Libraries Forum (SARL) – The Small and Rural Libraries Forum represents the interests of small and rural libraries in Illinois, provides a forum for staff at all levels and trustees to discuss issues of particular interest to small and rural libraries, and encourages active participation in Illinois library organizations.<\/p>\n Young Adult Services Forum (YASF) – The Young Adult Services Forum’s primary focus is creating and providing professional development opportunities and materials for library staff members working with young adult populations.<\/p>\n Youth Services Forum (YSF) – The Youth Services Forum addresses the needs and interests of those concerned with quality library service for children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" (via the Illinois Library Association) Are you an ILA member who wants to get involved but doesn’t know where to begin, or have you been considering joining ILA but need a reason?
