The Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries of Illinois (CARLI) is pleased to announce the availability of a second round of applications for the creation of Open Educational Resources (OER) as part of the Illinois SCOER (Support for Creation of Open Educational Resources) program. This project has been fully funded by an additional $1 million supplemental grant to the University of Illinois System\/CARLI, from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education<\/a>, or FIPSE, in the U.S. Department of Education.<\/p>\n While the primary focus for the Illinois SCOERs sub-grants remains courses related to “The Human Condition: Care, Development, and Lifespan”, we have expanded the focus to include any subject area for large enrollment courses with high textbook costs.<\/p>\n CARLI will award a minimum of eight grants as part of Illinois SCOERs. Each applicant team may request up to $60,000.<\/p>\n CARLI recommends that interested parties fill out the\u00a0Illinois\u00a0SCOERs Intent to Apply form<\/a>\u00a0by Friday, September 30<\/strong>. These workshops will be held on the following dates.<\/p>\n Tuesday, September 6, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM CDT<\/strong>–register here<\/a><\/p>\n Thursday, September 15, from 1:30 to 3:00 PM CDT<\/strong>–register here<\/a><\/p>\n Wednesday, September 28, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM CDT<\/strong>–register here<\/a><\/p>\n Attending a workshop is not required.
