Take part in an exciting annual\u00a0virtual\u00a0event featuring colleagues from around the\u00a0Midwest.\u00a0This year&#8217;s theme is <em>Transformation of Librarianship<\/em>.\u00a0SLA\u00a0membership is not required to submit (and registration fee will be waived for presenters), but topics should relate to special librarianship or specialized libraries, services, collections.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022\u00a0SLA\u00a0Midwest\u00a0Symposium\u00a0will take place on\u00a0<strong>Friday, June 10, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM CDT<\/strong>. You are invited to propose one (or both) of the following program types.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u200blightning talk (super-focused 10 minute talk on your topic)<\/li>\n<li>education session (30-60 min)\u200b<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Presenters who have recently begun or completed a project or initiative, published an article or blog post, or shifted their career in some way are especially encouraged to submit a proposal. Students are also invited to submit.<\/p>\n<p>Topics to consider include the following.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>collecting and utilizing data; data management<\/li>\n<li>evolving role of libraries and\u00a0librarians<\/li>\n<li>information ethics<\/li>\n<li>copyright and intellectual property<\/li>\n<li>diversity, equity, and inclusion<\/li>\n<li>transformative agreements and open access<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Proposals are due\u00a0<strong>Monday, May 9<\/strong>.
