Registration for the free webinar on “Engaging People Living with Dementia with Library Materials” is now available.\u00a0The webinar will be held on\u00a0Thursday, April 28,\u00a0at 1:00 PM CDT<\/strong>. The webinar\u00a0will give practical advice about how to choose books and other reading materials that are uniquely suited to each individual, following the tenets of person-centered care.\u00a0In addition, ideas for developing group programming will be shared, based on successful programs held in libraries and memory cafes across the country and around the globe.<\/p>\n

The webinar will be recorded and archived for later access for those who cannot attend.\u00a0Feel free to share with other interested colleagues.<\/p>\n

Speakers include Christine Damon, gerontologist and consultant; Mary Beth Riedner, creator of Tales & Travel; and Tami Hurst, outreach staff member for Olathe (KS) Public Library. The webinar is sponsored\u00a0by the Library Services for Dementia\/Alzheimer’s (LSDA) interest group of the American Library Association.<\/p>\n
