This year&#8217;s Research Forum will again\u00a0<strong>be held virtually, in the\u00a0afternoon of\u00a0April 26 and\u00a027 (Tuesday and Wednesday)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The annual Research Forum provides an opportunity for librarians, archivists, graduate students, teaching faculty, and information professionals to describe and promote their completed or in-progress research, practical case studies or projects. The Forum also provides a venue for researchers to seek suggestions for enhancing their research interests, to identify potential new partners for projects, to test the effectiveness of their undertakings, and to promote research in academic libraries.\u00a0<strong>Registration is free.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s plenary session will be a conversation with\u00a0David James Hudson, an award-winning writer, a library and information studies scholar, and an associate librarian at University of Guelph. David&#8217;s creative and scholarly work is primarily concerned with race, racism, and anti-racism, especially with the ways in which these phenomena have come to be conceptualized (both historically and in the present day) and the interests such conceptualizations have served. He explores such questions with particular attention to contexts of library and information work, Black diasporic life, colonialism, and capitalism. His writing has appeared in such publications as\u00a0<em>up\/\/root*<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Journal of Critical Library and Information Studies<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Journal of Information Ethics<\/em>, and the edited collections\u00a0<em>Topographies of Whiteness<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Information Ethics and Global Citizenship<\/em>. Information about these and other works can be found at his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidjameshudson.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proposals are invited on research or case studies in any area of library and information science, including, but\u00a0are not limited to, the following ones.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>equity, diversity, and\u00a0inclusion<\/li>\n<li>social justice<\/li>\n<li>decolonization and indigenization<\/li>\n<li>universal design and accessibility<\/li>\n<li>community engagement and outreach<\/li>\n<li>scholarly communication and publishing<\/li>\n<li>assessment and impact<\/li>\n<li>digital and information literacy<\/li>\n<li>special collections and preservation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Session Formats<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Presentation<\/strong> &#8211; A 20-minute\u00a0formal presentation, followed by a 10-min Q&amp;A<br \/>\n<strong>Poster<\/strong> &#8211; A visual summary of the project (e.g. digital poster, infographic) to be discussed in small interactive groups<\/p>\n<p><strong>Language<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Presentations and posters can be in English or French.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To submit a proposal, please fill out this <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/pages\/responsepage.aspx?id=hfFpVS_SE06YUM5bGrzS6D2g9qkYnqtKrF9C86sX87tUOE9GMEtZQTdESjlNTUhaN0tEUENKRlBCTy4u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">form<\/a>.
