The\u00a0IACRL Nominations Committee\u00a0is\u00a0seeking candidates for the 2022-2023 Executive Board Election. In April of 2022, members will vote for the IACRL Vice-President\/President-Elect and Secretary. Vice-President\/President-Elect is three-year commitment (with one year as Vice-President\/President-Elect, one year as President, and one year as Past President), beginning in July of 2022 and ending in June of\u00a02025. Secretary is a one-year position, beginning in July of 2022 and ending in June of\u00a02023.<\/p>\n
The nomination process begins with an open call for nominations for these positions. All IACRL members are invited to nominate a colleague or self-nominate.\u00a0Submission of a nominee suggestion form does not guarantee the nominee will appear on the slate;<\/em>\u00a0the Nominating Committee will review all nominations and may also seek additional individuals to meet identified needs, in order to develop the strongest possible slate. According to IACRL bylaws<\/a> and ILA bylaws<\/a>, nominees selected to appear on the slate “must be members of ILA at the time of nomination”;\u00a0that is, by the time the slate is finalized.<\/p>\n The Nominating Committee is seeking candidates who have strategic skill sets to govern a professional, nonprofit association. Duties and expectations of Executive Board members can be found in the IACRL bylaws<\/a>. For the 2022 election, skills especially needed include a big-picture focus and a global outlook; the ability to act as a change agent; a commitment to participate and serve actively for three years; and the ability to implement ILA’s strategic plan.<\/p>\n The submission deadline is 5:00 PM CDT\u00a0on Friday, February 18<\/strong>.\u00a0To submit a nomination, complete the online nomination form<\/a>.
