Please see below for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The second\u00a0Conference on Academic Library Management, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conferenceonacademiclibrarymanagement.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CALM<\/a>, <strong>taking place virtually the week of April 25, 2022<\/strong>, invites proposals for presentations that inform and inspire the practice and application of management in academic libraries. This conference is geared towards current middle managers, administrators, coordinators, and those who aspire to take on those roles. We will focus on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ddslearning.com\/person-centered-practices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">person-centered management practices<\/a> that aim toward creating more just and inclusive workplaces.<\/p>\n<p>We invite proposals for either 60-minute presentations or 10-minute pre-recorded lightning talks on all topics related to library management. These topics could incorporate tips and advice, practical application, research, and learning from failures in any area, but particularly the following ones.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>budget\u00a0and fiscal planning<\/li>\n<li>hiring practices\u00a0and policies<\/li>\n<li>crisis and\u00a0emergency management<\/li>\n<li>communication and\u00a0transparency<\/li>\n<li>advocacy and\u00a0relationship-building<\/li>\n<li>work-life harmony\u00a0and time management<\/li>\n<li>fostering well-being<\/li>\n<li>anti-racist management<\/li>\n<li>supervision\u00a0and evaluation<\/li>\n<li>organizational culture\/climate<\/li>\n<li>professional development<\/li>\n<li>managing up\u00a0and sideways<\/li>\n<li>decision-making<\/li>\n<li>inclusion, diversity, equity,\u00a0and accessibility<\/li>\n<li>team building\u00a0and cultivation<\/li>\n<li>motivation\u00a0and empowerment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Proposal and Conference Timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proposals due: Tuesday, November 23, 2021<br \/>\nNotification of accepted proposals: Week of Saturday, January 15, 2022<br \/>\nConference: Week of Friday, April 25, 2022<\/p>\n<p>Proposals can be submitted using\u00a0this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe_57HAUZrJvuzBkO0SRcWOoO6udrYzkteJ_DBl3G6zWmy7GQ\/viewform?usp=send_form\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google form<\/a>.
