Scholarly metrics is a rapidly evolving field, so we will also identify some newer bibliometrics and altmetrics tools.<\/p>\n<p>Students will come away from the workshop being able to complete the following tasks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>identify basic bibliometric and altmetric indicators used in research evaluation processes<\/li>\n<li>generally explain the data underpinnings of altmetrics versus bibliometrics<\/li>\n<li>locate and use sources for scholarly metrics available for free on the World Wide Web<\/li>\n<li>use scholarly metrics appropriately and responsibly<\/li>\n<li>know emerging trends in scholarly metrics and scholarly communication<\/li>\n<li>to continue their learning, students will be asked to complete a\u00a0&#8220;treasure hunt&#8221;\u00a0worksheet after attending the webinar presentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This course consists of one two-hour session, <strong>on Tuesday, June 22, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM CDT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Register <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amigos.org\/civicrm\/event\/info?reset=1&amp;id=1490\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.\u00a0The deadline is <strong>Friday, June 18, at 8:00 AM CDT<\/strong>.
