The event, which does not officially have a name yet, will take place online<strong> Thursday, July 22, and Friday, July 23, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM CDT each day<\/strong>. Check <a href=\"https:\/\/scilibconference.acmescience.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>\u00a0for updates as they become available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why is there a need for a new conference, you ask?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Science librarianship is changing. We need opportunities for professional development and networking that change with us. Help us create these for each other.<\/li>\n<li>We want to address the many aspects of STEM librarianship, and will focus on STEM subjects from a librarianship perspective<\/li>\n<li>Our STEM librarian conference focus will allow us to connect with a dedicated community of peers, combining professional development opportunities with collegiality and the energy of an unconference.<\/li>\n<li>Did we mention that it&#8217;s free?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ways to Become Involved<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help us name the conference! We are holding a naming contest&#8211;you could win bragging rights and a $25 gift card to <a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bookshop.org<\/a>. Email your proposed name to stemlibconf@acmescience.com. The winner will be announced at the conference.<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer to help us plan! Send an e-mail to <a href=\"mailto:stemlibconf@acmescience.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stemlibconf@acmescience.com<\/a> for more information.<\/li>\n<li>Propose a session.
