Applications are now being accepted for the\u00a0Elevate Illinois Libraries Leadership Program<\/a>\u00a0(Elevate). This year’s program will take place on\u00a0Saturday, April 18, from\u00a08:30 AM to 4:30 PM<\/strong>, at the Illinois State Library in Springfield. Elevate 2020 sessions will explore the concept of judging versus joining behaviors and the types of behaviors that lead to inclusion as well as those that exclude people.<\/p>\n

Future leaders\u00a0from all types of libraries (academic, public, school, and special) and all parts of Illinois are encouraged to apply.\u00a0Applicants are not required to hold any specific positions in their library, but should have an interest in developing as a leader. An MLIS is not required.\u00a0Past Elevate participants may apply to attend this year.<\/p>\n

The registration fee for the program is $100 per participant. This fee covers materials and meals. Participants will be responsible for their own travel expenses.
