Arlis has been a very active member of HSLI, serving as both Secretary and President.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsli.org\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/arlis_dittmer-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1141\" src=\"https:\/\/hsli.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/arlis_dittmer-258x300.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 258px) 100vw, 258px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hsli.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/arlis_dittmer-258x300.jpg 258w, https:\/\/www.hsli.org\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/arlis_dittmer-1.jpg 300w\" alt=\"arlis_dittmer\" width=\"258\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>\u00a0She was the recipient of the 1998-99 Presidential Award Winner for her service on the HSLI Conference Committee. Arlis served on both the Illinois State Council and the Regional Advisory Council.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of HSLI, Arlis published articles in\u00a0<em>Nursing Education<\/em>\u00a0Perspectives the<em>\u00a0Journal of Hospital Librarianship,\u00a0<\/em>and the Quincy<em>Herald-Whig<\/em>. She presented in many venues, including HSLI, Midwest Chapter MLA, the Conference on Illinois History, the GMR Technology Forum, OPAL,\u00a0<span class=\"value_dc_description_abstract\">Sigma Theta Tau International<\/span>, and the Illinois State Library.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arlis Dittmer has retired from the Blessing Health Professions Library in Quincy, Illinois after 26 years of service.
