Hunt Jr. Library on the beautiful North Carolina State University campus. Proposals should fall into three categories:<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Presentations: 25 or 50 minutes<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Panel Discussions: 50 minutes<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Roundtables: 25 minutes<\/p>\n<p>We welcome proposals from faculty\/educators, students, librarians, instructional designers, educational technologists, and administrators as well as institutions and organizations big and small involved in open education and open pedagogy. We&#8217;re hoping to create a program that provides development opportunities for both novices and advanced open education practitioners.<\/p>\n<p>Some proposal topic ideas that might be of interest include:<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Adoption and creation of resources<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Publishing Platforms<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Best Practices and Impact of Open Education<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Creative Commons, Copyright, and Other Licensing<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Marketing and Advocacy<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pedagogy &amp; Student Success, including K-12 Highlights<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Instructional Design Strategies for OER<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trends &amp; Innovation<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 OER in Community Colleges<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tenure, promotion, and OER<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 OER Community Building<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assessment<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Inclusion and Diversity in Open Education<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Crowd Sourcing OER Projects<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 OER Research<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Graduate Students, Teaching Assistants, and OER on Campus<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 OER Basics: Tips for New Programs<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Student Engagement in OER Advocacy<br \/>\no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Accessibility of OER<\/p>\n<p>OESS is committed to highlighting a variety of voices and experiences. First time presenters are encouraged to submit a proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Submission Details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The deadline for submissions is Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time. The submission form can be found on our <a href=\"https:\/\/openedss.uark.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">event website<\/a> under the <a href=\"https:\/\/openedss.uark.edu\/call-for-proposals.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Call for Proposals<\/a> page.<\/li>\n<li>Proposal social media summaries should not exceed 240 characters (spaces included). Social media summaries are shortened abstracts which will fit into a single tweet on Twitter.<\/li>\n<li>Proposal abstracts should not exceed 2000 characters or approximately 500 words.<\/li>\n<li>All submissions will be evaluated based on the relevance of the topic and potential to advance the thinking or practice of open education and open pedagogy.
