We are seeking a few final proposals for an edited book tentatively titled Transfer Student Success: Advancing Outcomes from the Library, to be published by ALA Editions in Fall 2020.<\/p>\n<p>This edited volume will focus on academic library efforts to engage and support transfer students. The book will be practice-focused, with a firm grounding in the scholarship on transfer students, their use of libraries and information, and libraries&#8217; engagement with them. The three sections of the book as currently planned are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Welcome to the university: orientation and outreach efforts for new transfer students<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Engagement beyond the classroom: co-curricular efforts to engage with transfer students<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Building on transfer capital: instruction, information literacy, and research efforts to support student success<\/p>\n<p>We are particularly interested in seeing proposals that fall into the second or third sections outlined above.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to submit a proposal for consideration is Monday, January 6, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The submission should include your name, title, affiliation, title of the chapter, and an approximately 250-word proposed description of the work. Collaborative works are encouraged, as well. Chapters should be approximately 8 to 10 pages double-spaced, for a total of between 2,200 to 2,750 words.<\/p>\n<p>Please submit your proposal using this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSceB5P16gd_1yHbbYctU_UZilTCnWH5ZjKD_IygYLcJTvipwA\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">form<\/a>. We will notify you of the status of your submission by January 17, 2020.
