We&#8217;d like to thank our 2018-2019 FYAL bloggers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acrlog.org\/author\/mdewitt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Melissa DeWitt<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acrlog.org\/author\/zmclaughlin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Zo\u00eb McLaughlin<\/a>\u00a0for their terrific posts this past year in our<a href=\"http:\/\/acrlog.org\/categories\/first-year-academic-librarian-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">\u00a0First Year Academic Librarian Experience<\/a>\u00a0series. We&#8217;d also like to encourage new academic librarians &#8212; those who are just beginning in their first position at an academic library &#8212; to blog with us during their first year.<\/p>\n<p>FYAL bloggers typically publish posts monthly during the academic year. If you&#8217;re interested in applying to be a FYAL blogger for 2019-2020 here at ACRLog, applications are due\u00a0<strong>by Saturday, September 7, 2019<\/strong>. Send an email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:msmale@citytech.cuny.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">msmale@citytech.cuny.edu<\/a>\u00a0that includes:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; a sample blog post<br \/>\n&#8211; a brief note describing your job and your interest in blogging at ACRLog<\/p>\n<p>Proposals are evaluated by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acrlog.org\/who-we-are\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">ACRLog<\/a><span class=\"x_MsoHyperlink\"> blog team<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">When selecting FYAL bloggers we consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Diversity of race\/ethnicity\/sexual orientation\/ability<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Voices from a range of academic institutions (for example, community colleges, research universities, etc.) and job responsibilities within academic libraries (for example, instruction, cataloging, scholarly communications, etc.)<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Clear and compelling writing style<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Connection between day-to-day work and bigger conversations around theory, practice, criticism, LIS education, and other issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please send any questions to\u00a0msmale@citytech.cuny.edu.
