Both as information professionals and centers of the community, libraries are in a unique position to inform their communities, students, and staff about health and wellness as well as encourage and aid its implementation.<\/p>\n<p>Join Amigos Library Services and keynote speaker, Jenn Carson, by submitting a presentation sharing your experiences with health and wellness initiatives in your library. Our online conference will take place on\u00a0<strong>Thursday, October 10<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Carson\u00a0will kick off the conference with &#8220;Taking Care of Us: Ergonomic Advice for Library Staff,&#8221; teaching attendees how to de-stress at\u00a0their\u00a0desk, maintain proper posture, avoid injury, and regulate\u00a0their\u00a0emotions through breathing, stretching, and other techniques.<\/p>\n<p>Suggested health and wellness topics include experiences, programs, or services in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aging<\/li>\n<li>Any of the 9 dimensions of wellness<\/li>\n<li>Burnout<\/li>\n<li>Community partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Fitness \/ exercise<\/li>\n<li>Gardening<\/li>\n<li>Health fairs<\/li>\n<li>Health literacy<\/li>\n<li>Healthcare<\/li>\n<li>Liability \/ insurance challenges<\/li>\n<li>Mindfulness<\/li>\n<li>Nursing \/ lactation<\/li>\n<li>Nutrition<\/li>\n<li>Self-care<\/li>\n<li>Staff health and wellness<\/li>\n<li>Wellness rooms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you can speak on one of these topics, or have another topic in mind, please submit your proposal <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.proofpoint.com\/v2\/url?u=https-3A__www.amigos.org_node_5878&amp;d=DwMFAg&amp;c=euGZstcaTDllvimEN8b7jXrwqOf-v5A_CdpgnVfiiMM&amp;r=oC7Cy5UYBX49Dw1EE2T7-IgXFClSb-AAXm7xmiNaUYs&amp;m=wJvwkqpbZe7GjSHEG18kscRYfhse49X0L28mlDHmVgM&amp;s=yKi64I2SJtYxcrIDEJ4T9dTl7O8cUkZKetNQk3WIbfU&amp;e=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> by\u00a0<strong><u>August 1, 2019<\/u><\/strong>.
