Call for Science and Technology Section Liaisons<\/b><\/p>\n

\n

Are you a member of a science\/technology organization?<\/p>\n

Do you normally attend the conference\/meeting of the organization?<\/p>\n

Would you like to be more involved in STS, or would if you “had the time?”<\/p>\n

If so, the STS Liaison program could be a great opportunity for you!<\/b><\/p>\n

STS maintains a liaison program to encourage STS members to report on the meetings and activities of science and technology organizations. Liaisons have an opportunity to share annual meeting reports and updates via the STS email list, present to the community about what they’ve learned in the annual Spring STS Liaisons Online Forum, and more, as they help develop connections between librarians and other professions.<\/p>\n

The following liaison positions (2-year terms) will be available from July 2019:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Association for Information Science and Technology<\/a> (ASIS&T)<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centers<\/a> (IAMSLIC)<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Special Libraries Association Science-Technology Division<\/a> (SLA DST)<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Special Libraries Association Physics, Astronomy, and Math Division<\/a> (SLA PAM)<\/p>\n

STS-appointed liaisons:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Are expected to serve at least a two-year term (if possible)<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Attend the annual conference or meeting of their assigned organization (funding may be available)<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Report back to the STS community<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Annual report on key issues, initiatives, interests of the association within 2 weeks of the association’s annual meeting<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Updates (conference calls, etc.) via the STS email list<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 Other methods you would like to use!<\/p>\n

WANT TO BECOME A LIAISON FOR STS?<\/b><\/p>\n

Apply by June 14th, 2019<\/b><\/p>\n

Please email a short statement (200 words or less) to the STS Liaisons Committee’s SubCommittee for Liaison Recruitment (email addresses below) explaining why you are interested in the association that you would like to be liaison for, and sharing your experience or involvement in that association by June 14th, 2019<\/b>.<\/p>\n
