Reminder: RAILS Board Elections Open Through Friday, May 8

(via Gwen Gregory, University of Illinois at Chicago, on behalf of RAILS)

If you are at a RAILS member library, please vote, or encourage your library director to vote.

RAILS libraries of all types (academic, public, school, and special) are urged to vote in the RAILS Board election by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 8. You can review brief summaries for each candidate before completing the 2020 RAILS Board ballot.

Each RAILS member library may cast one ballot on behalf of the library agency. For school districts and other agencies with multiple library locations, the vote is cast on behalf of the agency as a whole, not a vote from each location. Each library designates one person who will vote; generally, it is either the library director or the board president. Your library may vote on all seats, regardless of your library type.

A map showing the library locations of the current RAILS Board and all 2020 candidates is available here. RAILS seeks a board that reflects the diversity of our membership in terms of race, ethnicity, age, geographic location, background, and other factors. Because the RAILS Board helps shape the future of the system, your vote is very important. Please vote today!
