A one hour webinar to assist public libraries in completing a successful Project Next Generation (PNG) Grant proposal is scheduled for next Thursday, March 9, starting at 2:30 p.m. The purpose of this webinar is to provide information about the PNG grant application requirements. Vandella Brown, Diversity Program Manager, and Karen Egan, LSTA Grants Consultant, will explain the PNG grant requirements including public library requirements and the Illinois Veterans History Project component. Registration for the webinar must be done through L2. The PNG Grant application webpage provides additional details for assessing, viewing and grant writing instructions:

All RAILS Libraries Must Complete ILL Traffic Survey and Online Library Certification 

All RAILS libraries must complete the annual online certification form on the Illinois State Library’s certification website, to confirm that they are meeting system membership requirements. Before completing the form, all libraries are required to complete the annual Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Traffic Survey that covers July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016.

Every RAILS library must complete the ILL survey and certification form by Friday, March 31, to remain eligible for system services such as delivery, continuing education, grant projects, and other programs. Click here for more information.. Delnor Hospital Medical Library Receives Illinois State Grant

Paula Olson, librarian at Cadence Health Delnor Hospital has received a $5,000.00 grant from the Illinois State Library. The grant is part of the “Back To Books” program sponsored by the State Library. Paula says this grant will enable her to bring her library collection up-to-date along with discount programs offered by medical book vendors.  Congratulations to Paula for her initiative in finding ways to improve her library even in these difficult financial times for health care.

Delnor Hospital is in Geneva, Illinois.
