Seeking Suggestions for Chicago-Area Panelists for MLA Leadership Workshop (Sept. 27-28 in Chicago)

(via Michelle Kraft, Cleveland Clinic)

I am picking brains for the names of people in the Chicago area who you (librarians) think would be good to participate on a panel to share their person experiences on how they discover and consume the information they need to do their jobs. We are interested in nurses, allied health, medical students, nursing students, etc. We want people who are engaging and consumers of information.

Please read the information below and respond directly to me, at kraftm@CCF.ORG, with suggestions of names of people we can approach. Stay tuned, because MLA will soon be sending out a call for librarians to participate in this workshop.

The Medical Library Association is hosting a two-day thought leadership workshop in late September in Chicago (Sept. 27-28) for twenty nationally prominent medical librarians and twenty medical publishers. The workshop’s theme is “Meeting the Evolving Information Needs of Library Stakeholders.” The program will feature keynote addresses, a panel, and small-group discussions.  For the panel, the program planners are seeking four to five Chicago area health care professionals or students each of whom would be willing to share his or her personal experience in a 15-minute presentation covering how they discover and consume the information they need to do their jobs — what search engines, websites and apps they routinely go to, the devices they use (laptop, tablet, phone) when and where, the extent to which they consult printed journals and books, and how they utilize the resources of their library.
